Applications are invited to apply for the 14-month Food & Beverages Packaging Operations Learnership based at Heineken Beverages Gqeberha Manufacturing. Acquiring this qualification will enable an individual to perform basic operations on an automated food & beverage packaging line within the set requirements of a manufacturing unit.
The Learnership entails the following outcomes:
- Demonstrating an understanding of basic machine operations in a manufacturing and/or packaging environment and monitoring critical control points (CCP’s) as an integral part of the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system.
- Performing quality control practices in a food or sensitive consumer product operation and competence in 3 x Machine Workplace Observations as part of the Learnership on an automated food & beverage packaging line includes (to be decided based on operational requirements):
- Washing, Filling, Sealing, Labelling, Palletizing, and Depalletizing
- Performing first-line maintenance and applying problem-solving techniques.
- Demonstrating effective communication skills and the ability to interpret and use information, as well as demonstrating mathematical abilities
- Learners will be required to attend classes and successfully complete assessments (minimum pass rate of 70% per subject) as part of the programme
The Minimum Requirements.
- Unemployed at the time of application and must have passed Grade 10 – 12 with Mathematics (NOT Maths Literacy) and English as subjects.
